We are looking for high calibre Electrical Engineering graduates to work in both Stockport and Ashby-de-la-Zouch who are interested in developing a career in the safety industry. Accepted candidates will be responsible for assisting experienced engineers and helping them fulfil the requirements of allocated specialist projects.

In their role they will be involved in all aspects of project tasks, from the procurement of materials, development of General Arrangement, Power Distribution & Schematic Wiring Drawings and project documentation, to Functional Testing using the latest software and hardware technologies. They will also be involved in seeking ways to improve the production of designs through the use of technology, improved working methods and standardisation.

Brief Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working with the team members to produce designs, drawings and documentation to the client’s specifications for issue to the production department
  • Working with the assigned Engineer to purchase equipment and sub-systems in line with the client’s requirements
  • Communicating with clients and team members, providing feedback and obtaining information
  • Assisting the assigned Engineer in documentation and administration matters relating to job files, contract file management and, if necessary, site documentation
  • Assisting the assigned Engineer in the checking and production of documentation, subsequent to site work
  • Assisting in the development of Company design standards applicable to engineering
  • Ensuring compliance with all Quality Assurance procedures
  • Assisting in the production of defect reports

Technical Support Engineer

Technical Support Engineer

Due to a sustained increase in business turnover including repeat custom and new orders, we are looking to recruit Technical Support Engineers.

This role involves providing high level technical support and assistance to our customers by means of in-house office and engineering work as well as UK and Worldwide factory and on-site visits. This is for the purposes of commissioning, modifying, upgrading and maintaining process control systems, predominantly for safety applications.

Typical industry sectors are: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear Processing and Rail.

Candidates must be willing to undertake offshore training and ideally have previous experience of working in a Safety & Control Systems based environment, together with a good appreciation of Functional Safety to the standards of IEC 61508/61511.

We are looking for motivated self-starters with a relevant Electrical Engineering qualification who are capable of working with minimal supervision.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with customers to establish, assess & interpret their requirements to provide practical solutions
  • Collaborating with the Sales Department and Process Engineering Department to drive forward business opportunities
  • Designing modifications for small projects
  • Modifying PLC, SCADA & HMI Software to suit modifications
  • Designing changes to hardwired systems
  • Installation and testing of modifications on site
  • Updating and issuing drawings
  • Raising material requisitions
  • Project management
  • Commissioning
  • Supervision of Technicians on site
  • System Health audits
  • Emergency call out to breakdowns

The above main activities will involve working on the following systems: ESD, HIPPS, Fire & Gas Systems, Burner Management Systems, Process Control Systems and Automation/Information products used in the Rail Industry.

Project Engineer - Rail Systems

Project Engineer – Rail Systems

We are looking to recruit a Project Engineer for our office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicester.

Key Duties

  • Provide technical support to the Rail SIS Engineering Delivery Team and Rail Customers.
  • Liaise with our clients, suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to the Rail SIS business development/sales team.
  • Investigate any problems with site installations and make modifications if required.
  • Produce customer and internal reports.
  • Interface with the Client and work to project deadlines.
  • Work to current Rail Standards and Health & Safety regulations.

Required Attributes

  • Good knowledge of electronic systems, Ethernet/Serial Communications hardware and software.
  • Good analytical diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst maintaining appropriate documentation and records.
  • Customer focused with good reporting skills.
  • Ideally knowledge of Public Address systems, Inductive loops, Station signage, Help Points.
  • Ideally knowledge of Rail working practises and environments.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • A recognised engineering qualification preferably in electronics or software engineering.
  • Clean driving licence
