Gary joins us as a Principal Engineer and will be leading Control and Safety System projects for our Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Petro-Chemical customers.

This was followed by our Celebration Dinner marking the 10th Anniversary of the Management Buy In of the business by Ian Wright, John Blackwell and Eddy Turnock who were delighted to be joined by Steffen Philipp of HIMA and Peter Garland; who have continued alongside the business as shareholders.

SELLA CONTROLS to deliver SISS Enhancements across 26 stations

Stockport, United Kingdom – Systems integration specialist Sella Controls Limited is pleased to announce the contract award by Arriva Rail North (ARN) to deliver Station Information and Security (SISS) enhancements across 26 stations in the Greater Manchester area.

The contract will combine the addition of Customer Information Systems (CIS), Long-Line Public Address (LLPA), and Passenger Help Point (PHP) equipment across the Greater Manchester rail network. The works will also include the delivery of CCTV support services to assist ARN with their CCTV renewal programme.

Working in partnership with contract management specialist Vextrix Management, SELLA CONTROLS is supplying new SISS telecommunications equipment on behalf of ARN and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM).

SELLA CONTROLS will also be supplying, installing and commissioning new CIS or LLPA equipment controlled from the new Route Operations Centre (ROC) in Manchester. Display screens and audio equipment will be connected directly to the CIS Servers via the existing ARN secure IT network. This architecture will provide operational personnel with the ability to offer improved real time passenger information at stations.

For the CCTV support services, SELLA CONTROLS will be working in partnership with ARN’s in-house CCTV provider to deliver CCTV enhancement works at each location. This approach has created delivery efficiencies for the end client reducing the overall cost of the scheme.

As a result we believe we were able to offer a very practical and cost effective approach to the scheme. This ensured TfGM and Arriva Rail North deliver station improvements within their budget.”

The works at the twenty six stations are well underway and will continue throughout the year with completion due in 2018.  Senior Project Manager for SISS Renewals Sam Butcher added, “Having progressed the design packages in partnership with Vextrix Management and Arriva Rail North the SISS delivery team are keen to progress these works. Once again we will be working in partnership with our approved installation contractor PICOW Engineering Group maintaining our reputation for delivery.”

Contract award from Bombardier Transportation

SELLA CONTROLS is pleased to announce the contract award from Bombardier Transportation for the supply of Tracklink III equipment for the East Anglia Rolling Stock.

SELLA CONTROLS awarded Three Year Station Improvement Framework

Stockport, United Kingdom – Systems integration specialist Sella Controls Limited is pleased to announce the contract award by Arriva Rail North (ARN) of a three year framework contract to deliver Station Improvement Works across the network.

The framework has been awarded as part of the Station Improvement Fund (SIF) works being undertaken by ARN as part of its franchise commitment. The framework is based on a two year fixed period with an option for ARN to extend for a further year if required.

Under the framework, SELLA CONTROLS will be required to tender against other framework contractors for work packages. These work packages will combine the addition of Customer Information Systems (CIS), Public Address (PA), and Passenger Help Points (PHP) equipment across the entire ARN station network. The works will also include the delivery of CCTV and TVM support services to assist ARN with their overall enhancement programme.

Since the framework commenced in July 2017, SELLA CONTROLS has already been awarded two work packages covering twenty stations and work has already commenced at a number of station locations.

SELLA CONTROLS have steadily built their SISS Telecommunications delivery capability from the ground up since 2009. This started with a minor CIS project for Thameslink and has grown to a multi-million pound SISS contract delivery business.

Contracts for HIPPS on North Sea Installation

SELLA CONTROLS is pleased to announce the contract award for a High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS) to reduce the risk of overpressure on an installation in the North Sea. The HIPPS is based on the HIMA HIQuad Safety PES product.

SELLA CONTROLS have been providing HIPPS solutions for over 30 years and have supplied 10 HIPPS projects in the last 12 months. These systems provide over pressure protection in a variety of applications including onshore gas terminals, pipelines and separators on offshore installations.

SELLA to provide a SCCS for TAQA in the UK North Sea

SELLA CONTROLS is pleased to announce the contract award to provide a safety critical communication solution for TAQA in the UK North Sea

Stockport, United Kingdom – Functional Safety Systems integration specialist SELLA CONTROLS is pleased to announce the contract award to supply a new offshore safety critical ESD inter-trip communication system for an offshore application. The SIL 3 compliant system solution utilises the black channel safety critical communications approach detailed in BS EN 61508. The system will be used to transmit critical emergency shutdown signals between the TAQA operated North Cormorant Platform and the Eider platforms. The system, that will also include diverse communication paths to increase availability and reduce the likelihood of spurious trips, is based on the HIMA HIMatrix Programmable Electronic System.
